hi this video will show you the way to lock your zip to RAR files with password there are two files as you can see one is normal image and another is already zipped I am opening the first one now letamp;#39;s lock it with pass right click WinRAR and then add to archives you may choose raw or zip RAR has the strong compressing system so choosing RAR and then set password the password and ok now the file is locked with password as you can see and now you need the exact password to open it or to extract it now the second one which is already zipped it is zipped but I can open it easily and it is not locked so to do it go to tools convert archives compression and finally the Locking task yes it is now password protected now you need password to open it and this is how you can simply password protect your files view an existing zip or RAR files easily hope you found this video useful and please subscribe to josephit goodbye

Require a password to open a document Choose File Set Password (from the File menu at the top of your screen), enter the requested information, then click Set Password. If your computer isnt set up for Touch ID, Remember this password in my keychain appears.
In some cases, when you attempt to unzip files from (extract) or view files in a Zip file (. zip or . zipx) a Decrypt dialog will display requesting a password. This indicates that the files in your Zip file have been encrypted.
Encrypt a zip file in the Mac Terminal Open your Spotlight Search bar and search Terminal. Type zip -er desiredfilename. Drag and drop the file or files you want to compress into a zip file into the Terminal window. Press the Enter key. Next you will be prompted to enter a password.
Right-click on the zip file you wish to protect and select Send To Compressed (zipped) Folder. A new zip file will be created and youll then be asked to set a password for it. Enter the password twice, and hit OK. Your new zip file will be created with the specified password, and youre all done!
Encrypt a zip file with Windows Right-click or press and hold the zip file you want to encrypt. Select Properties. Click the Advanced button and check the box next to Encrypt contents to secure data. Select OK to close the Advanced Attributes window and then select Apply. Click OK.
Create encrypted archives on a Mac in seconds Drag the folder or file you want to zip into the app window. Click Archive. Select the compression format and compression level. Check the Encrypt box and create and confirm a password.
How to password-protect a ZIP file on Windows Right-click the ZIP file you want to protect with a password. Choose Properties and then Advanced. Select Encrypt contents to secure data. Click Apply. Decide which ZIP file elements you want to encrypt.
On your Mac, do one of the following: Lock a closed document: Select it in a Finder window or on the desktop, choose File Get Info, click the arrow next to General, then select Locked.
