I find that theres sometimes a little bit of confusion when it comes to the difference between granting ownership of a copyright and granting a license. So heres kind of the difference. Granting ownership of a copyright is exactly what it sounds like you are granting ownership of whatever that creative work is. Now, it might be via work for hire and it might be via assignment and those -- that term, work for hire, is often used incorrectly. There are only certain circumstances where creation of something will qualify as a work for hire. But, regardless, granting ownership of a copyright grants ownership of that thing. Where it gets confusing is when you start talking about copyright licenses. A copyright license is otherwise known as permission to do something. And a copyright, remember, is a bundle of different rights, so, the right to copy it, the right to distribute, the right to sell, and display, and all kinds of other things. So you can license each of those rights to differ
