Open the PDF file in Preview, go to the File menu, select Export, rename the file, choose the location to save it, and select the desired format. The Permissions setting controls restrictions that can be placed on the PDF file. To prevent printing of a PDF file, uncheck the Allow the document to be printed option. You must always enter a master password when security options are enabled or when a user password is set.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF. Choose File Edit Permissions, then do any of the following: Set a password for opening the PDF: Select Require Password To Open Document. Enter a password, then retype it to verify.
