Some Key Difference Between A Degree and Diploma The degree is a four-year course, while the diploma is a two-year course. Admissions to a degree program are made yearly, while to a diploma course it can be done either yearly or half-yearly. It depends on the college or universitys policy.

In Poland compulsory education ends at the age of 18. It usually starts when children are 6 years old and ends after 12 years of learning (usually in a high school). Contemporary Polish law distinguishes between compulsory school (obowiązek szkolny) and compulsory education (obowiązek nauki).
Since 2007/2008 academic year Polish higher education system has been divided to three stages, which are: Bachelor (Licencjat, Inżynier), Master (Magister), and Doctor (Doktor).
The Matura is the secondary school diploma students need to pass, to carry on with their education. Three subjects are compulsory at basic level in the exam: Written Polish/ Spoken Polish, Basic Modern Language and Basic Mathematics as well as one extended level subject.
What is a Diploma of Higher Education equivalent to? A full-time, two-year DipHE course is usually equivalent to the first two years of an undergraduate degree. Because of this, it can sometimes be used for entry to the third year of a related degree course, if a student wishes to go on to gain an undergraduate degree.
