Prevent unauthorized access to your PDF files by encrypting them with a certificate or password that recipients have to enter before they can open or view them.
If a PDF document is secured, only the author should edit it. Contact the author or the PDF creator to edit the document.
Open the PDF in Acrobat. Use the Unlock tool: Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security.
To create a copy protected PDF file, right-click on a PDF in Windows Explorer and select Make Secure PDF. In Safeguard Secure PDF Writer select the copy protection controls you want to apply.
Open the PDF document in Reader. Choose Edit Copy File to Clipboard. The content is copied to the clipboard. In an another application, choose Edit Paste to paste the copied content.
Using your computers basic docHub Reader software, you can determine the security settings of any PDF file. Double-click on the PDF file that you want to open. docHub Reader or Acrobat should open automatically. Click on the File menu. Click Properties. A new window opens on screen. Click the Security tab.
To view the security settings of a document, choose File Properties in Acrobat or Reader. From the Document Properties dialog box, click the Security tab. If you have trouble opening a PDF, or youre restricted from using certain features, contact the author of the PDF.
Open the PDF in Acrobat. Use the Unlock tool: Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security.
Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect. Select whether you want to restrict editing with a password or encrypt the file with a certificate or password. Set password or security method as desired. Click OK and then click Save.
Go to the Protect PDF tool. Drag and drop your PDF into the toolbox. Type the password youd like to set. Click Encrypt PDF to add the password to the PDF.
