There is a keyboard shortcut for Paste Unformatted Text: Ctrl+Alt+Shift V. You can reassign that to some other key combination using the menu Tools - Customize - Keyboard.
The correct format for a numeric ZIP+4 code is five digits, a hyphen, and four digits. The first five digits represent the 5-digit ZIP Code; the sixth and seventh digits (the first two after the hyphen) identify an area known as a sector; the eighth and ninth digits identify a smaller area known as a segment.
In LibreOffice Calc, select Edit Paste Special. Then uncheck Paste all and check only Text. The paste special window. In Microsoft Excel, select Home Paste Paste Values.
Ctrl+Shift+V Opens the Paste Special dialog.
While less common, U.S. zip codes occasionally come in a nine-digit form called Zip+4.Shorten to Five Digits Insert a new column to the right of your current zip code column. Type or copy and paste =LEFT(C2,5) , replacing C2 with your cells identifier. Drag the formula down the rest of your column.
Select the cells you want to copy, and use Ctrl-C to copy them. Select the cell where you want to copy the cells. What eventually worked out for me was: Select cells to copy. Copy them (Either Ctrl+C or Right click - Copy ) Right click where you want to paste and select Paste Only - Number.
The six-digit postal code consists of two parts: the last two digits (sector code) of the old four-digit postal code, followed by four new digits representing the delivery point within the sector.
Copy: Use Edit Copy or the keyboard shortcut Control+C or the Copy icon. Paste: Use Edit Paste or the keyboard shortcut Control+V or the Paste icon. The result of a paste operation depends on the source of the text to be pasted.
