By default, Word preserves the original formatting when you paste content into a document using Ctrl+V, the Paste button, or right-click + Paste. To change the default, follow these steps. Go to File Options Advanced. Under Cut, copy, and paste, select the down arrow for the setting to change.
If you use Ctrl+V or the Paste command, only formatted text will be pasted. To paste without formatting, you should use the Paste special command (Alt+Shift+V) instead.
Using a keyboard shortcut is, by far, the easiest way to paste plain text without formatting on your computer. To do that, press Ctrl+Shift+V to remove formatting instead of Ctrl+V on Windows.
Its simple to use OCR if you have an image or document you can take a picture of. Follow these steps to use OCR to copy text from an image: Open your OCR app to scan a document. Wait until your app prompts you to scan or until it has recognized text.
Tip: Use Alt+Ctrl+C to copy a format, and Alt+Ctrl+Vto paste a format.
Press Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+X to cut, or Ctrl+V to paste the text or picture (Windows); or press ⌘+C, ⌘+X, or ⌘+V (Mac). On Chrome, Firefox, and Chromium-based Edge, you can also use Ctrl+Shift+V and ⌘+Shift+V to paste text only (pastes text without source formatting).
