if you have text thats formatted in word and you want to paste it into Gmail first you need to save the page and the text as a web page after youve saved it as a web page then you can select the information or the text you want from that web page copy it and paste it into Gmail and it will keep all of the formatting

Using Paste Special. The Paste Special dialog box enables you to take content copied from another application and select how you want to paste that content into your document. Paste special is only available when there is RTF, MIF, HTML, or plain text content in the Windows clipboard.
By default, Word preserves the original formatting when you paste content into a document using Ctrl+V, the Paste button, or right-click + Paste.
The Paste button on the Home tab places the current contents of the clipboard into the document at the flashing cursors location.
It lets users duplicate content or move it around within a document or between them. Copy and paste is easy. Use Ctrl+C to copy, or right-click and choose Copy. Then paste it with Ctrl+V or Paste from the context menu.
