The document file (*. doc) can be converted to XML/Text file using Data Transformation. For this we use a special component called preprocessor. The preprocessor that can be used for converting Document files to xml is WordToXml.
In your Word document, place the cursor where you want the text to appear. Press Ctrl + Shift + V (Cmd + Shift + V on Mac).
Word to HTML to DITA In Oxygen, Select File-Import-HTML File to import the HTML as XHTML. Then open the XHTML in Oxygen and in the Transformation Scenarios view there should be four pre-configured transformation scenarios to convert XHTML to DITA topics, tasks, references, or concepts.
Smart Paste Open the Word document in MS Office, select all the content, and copy it. Open Oxygen and create a new DITA topic in the Author visual editing mode. Paste the selected content. Oxygens smart paste functionality will attempt to convert the content to DITA.
Select the File tab. Do one of the following: To convert the document without saving a copy, select Info, and then select Convert. To create a new copy of the document in Word 2016 or Word 2013 mode, select Save As, and then choose the location and the folder where you want to save the new copy.
Press Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+X to cut, or Ctrl+V to paste the text or picture (Windows); or press ⌘+C, ⌘+X, or ⌘+V (Mac). On Chrome, Firefox, and Chromium-based Edge, you can also use Ctrl+Shift+V and ⌘+Shift+V to paste text only (pastes text without source formatting).
Select Save . If the file was previously saved, select File Save a Copy. If the file is unsaved, select File Save As. Select Browse to choose the location on your computer where you want to save the file. In the drop-down list, select PDF. Select Save.
Highlight the text you want to duplicate by clicking and dragging with your mouse. Select Home Copy or press Ctrl + C on your keyboard to copy the text.
