In binary mode, copy /b copies all characters (including special characters such as CTRL+C, CTRL+S, CTRL+Z, and ENTER) to the device, as data. A W-2 form is a multipart form: Copy A goes to the Social Security Administration. Copy 1 is for the city, state, or locality. Copy B is for filing with the employees federal tax return. Copy C is for the employees records.

Review your paper Forms W-2, especially Copy A, to ensure that they print accurately prior to mailing them to Social Securitys Wilkes-Barre Direct Operations Center. Social Security accepts laser printed Forms W-2/W-3 as well as the standard red drop-out ink forms.
