In this tutorial, the presenter demonstrates how to create table captions and a list of tables in Microsoft Word. They start by scrolling to the bottom of the document where all tables are located. The presenter selects the text for the caption, goes to the "References" tab, and uses the "Insert Caption" option, changing the label from "Figure" to "Table" before clicking "OK." They delete the second instance of "Table" in the caption. Next, they modify the caption style by accessing the "Home" tab, changing the formatting to black, removing italics, setting the font to Times New Roman at size 10, and adjusting the spacing before confirming the changes.
