The section sign () (also known as the section marker, section symbol, paragraph sign, paragraph marker, paragraph symbol, double S or section mark or paragraph mark for short in parts of Europe) is a letter that is an alternate form of used in legal code. It is also a punctuation mark.
How to make the section symbol () on Mac and Windows Press the Num Lock key to turn the number lock on. Hold down the ALT key. Press the keys 0, 1, 6, 7 in sequence on the number pad. Release the ALT key.

Alternatively, in Windows, hit Insert Special Character and select the silcrow. Similarly you could select the Paragraph sign or pilcrow, or type Alt 0167.
