Copyright and trademark symbols can be added by using a keyboard shortcut. For example: To insert the copyright symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+C.
Press down the Ctrl and Alt keys then, press C. Type 00A9 then, press Alt + x. Remember that there should be no space in between typing the code and pressing Alt + x.
Heres how to browse different symbols: Press Windows logo key + . ( period), then select Symbols in the emoji panel. Scroll through symbols like punctuation marks, accented keys, and more!
Inserting ASCII characters To insert an ASCII character, press and hold down ALT while typing the character code. For example, to insert the degree () symbol, press and hold down ALT while typing 0176 on the numeric keypad. You must use the numeric keypad to type the numbers, and not the keyboard.
Ensure Num Lock is enabled, then just hold alt, enter the code on the number pad, and receive your symbol. This goes for any PC keyboard with a number pad, whether it is a laptop or a desktop. Examples include general symbols like ALT + 1, ☺, or ALT + 12, ♀.
In your document, position the insertion point where you want the special character to appear. Press and hold down the ALT key while you type the four number Unicode value for the character. Note that NUM LOCK must be on, and you have to use the number pad keys to type the Unicode character value.
A shortcut to the emoji window There is a keyboard shortcut to use them just as easily on your computer. Press the Win and period . keys together, or, on a Mac, use the combination Ctrl + Cmd + space .
You can also get here by tapping the keyboard symbol (it looks like a globe) on your keyboard when its open. From there, go to Keyboard Settings Text Replacement. Paste or type your emoticon into the Phrase field. This is the emoticon that youre going to use often.
Select the text you want to copy and press Ctrl+C. Place your cursor where you want to paste the copied text and press Ctrl+V.
Hold the Alt key and type the proper ASCII code on the numeric keypad. When you release the Alt key, you should see your desired symbol on the screen.
