By default, Word preserves the original formatting when you paste content into a document using Ctrl+V, the Paste button, or right-click + Paste. To change the default, follow these steps. Go to File Options Advanced. Under Cut, copy, and paste, select the down arrow for the setting to change.

Using a keyboard shortcut is, by far, the easiest way to paste plain text without formatting on your computer. If you use Ctrl+V or the Paste command, only formatted text will be pasted. To paste without formatting, you should use the Paste special command (Alt+Shift+V) instead.
How to Paste on Google Docs Without Losing Formatting? Open Google Docs. First things first, open your web browser and navigate to Google Docs. Copy the Content You Want to Paste. Right Click on Your Mouse. Click on Paste Without Formatting Your Content Will Be Pasted.
