sometimes you have information on one document that you need to transfer to another and it might be formatted a certain way and you donamp;#39;t want it to be formatted that way in the other area one example would be when you have a graphic organizer such as this one maybe you have something like this in your ela class and you need to turn it into the format of the actual essay and a blank document such as this one so if you just tried to copy everything I take this up yet and then come over here and paste and youamp;#39;re gonna end up with the same formatting in bullet points and same font and so on but obviously if Iamp;#39;m writing a three paragraph essay or typing a three paragraph essay I donamp;#39;t want bullet points and your teacher probably doesnamp;#39;t want a stylized font like this so instead of pasting with ctrl V when youamp;#39;re in the Edit menu you may notice excuse me the Edit menu rather that there is another option below paste that says paste without form

Copy and paste in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides On your Android phone or tablet, open a file in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app. In Docs: Tap Edit . Select what you want to copy. Tap Copy. Touch hold where you want to paste. Tap Paste.
To swiftly copy and paste formatting in Google Sheets, utilize the keyboard shortcuts for efficiency. After selecting the cell with the desired format, press Ctrl+C to copy, then navigate to the target cell and press Ctrl+Shift+V to paste the formatting.
Paste. On your computer, open a Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides file. Select the text, range of cells, or object you want to copy the format of. In the toolbar, click Paint format. . Select what you want to paste the formatting onto. The formatting will change to be the same as the formatting you copied.
Instructions Highlight the section you want to copy (gets a blue outline) Use the Ctrl+X (cut) or Ctrl+C (copy) keyboard shortcuts to cut or copy the section you want to move or copy. Use the Ctrl+V (paste) keyboard shortcut to paste on another page.
Paste Special is one of the most common modeling shortcuts.
If you use Ctrl+V or the Paste command, only formatted text will be pasted. To paste without formatting, you should use the Paste special command (Alt+Shift+V) instead.
If the Paste Without Formatting option is not available in the dropdown menu, try using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+ V for Windows, Command + V for Mac) instead. This shortcut should perform the same function of pasting without formatting.
PCs: Keep Source Formatting will preserve the text as you copied it (keyboard shortcut: CTRL + K after pasting) Merge Formatting will force the text youre pasting to match the text around it (keyboard shortcut: CTRL + M after pasting).
