hi guys and welcome to my channel today im just going to do a quick tutorial just showing you how you can cut and paste um track changes into it into a separate document but still retain the track changes because word if you try to copy it just using the control c and the control v method just cut and paste it will just paste it all as if the text has been accepted and you wont see any of the deletions and the insertion so if you want to be able to retain the track changes formatting then you need to um to cut and paste it to something thats called a spike so im going to show you how to do that okay so first of all you just need to make sure that track changes is turned off in the original document so you can either change it here you can just click there and if you go to the bottom bit there youll see that its off we can also switch it on and off here as well if you dont see track changes at the bottom of your screen there if you right mouse click on just the gray area there yo

Turn on Track Changes On the Review tab, select Track Changes. In the Track Changes drop-down list, select one of the following: To track only the changes that you make to the document, select Just Mine. To track changes to the document made by all users, select For Everyone.
Select the text that you want to paste into an email message. On the Developer tab, use the option to group the selected text. Select the text again, and then right click and click Copy. Paste the text into a new HTML formatted email and it will be shown with track changes.
To Copy/Paste Text with Tracked Changes: In the document that contains the tracked changes, select the text you wish to copy. Press Ctrl + F3. In the document in which you wish to paste, click where the text should go. Turn Track Changes off in the document in which you are pasting (if necessary).
If you want to create a clean version of your documents for your future reference, click on the Accept drop down list arrow and select Accept ALL Changes. This will remove reference all the older information and accept/replace this to only who the updated text.
To Copy/Paste Text with Tracked Changes: In the document that contains the tracked changes, select the text you wish to copy. Press Ctrl + F3. In the document in which you wish to paste, click where the text should go. Turn Track Changes off in the document in which you are pasting (if necessary).
Remove Tracked Changes manually or selectively If you turn on Track Changes, Word will save all changes and comments made. Click the Review tab on the Ribbon. Click the down arrow on Track Changes Track Changes to turn it on or off.
To use the spike to copy and paste text with Track Changes markings intact, follow these steps: In the source document, select the text you want to copy. Press Ctrl+F3. In the target document, place the insertion point where you want the text inserted. Make sure that Track Changes is turned off in the target document.
Select the text that you want to paste into an email message. On the Developer tab, use the option to group the selected text. Select the text again, and then right click and click Copy. Paste the text into a new HTML formatted email and it will be shown with track changes.
Click and drag your cursor through the text that you want to modify, which highlights it. Highlighting the text means that any formatting or editing tools you use are going to affect that section alone. While highlighted, click the Font color button, then the Strikethrough button. This text is now redlined.
Select Ctrl + C to copy all the comments. Alternately, you can right-click on any of the selected comments and then select Copy.
