So maybe in Excel or in Outlook, you have a list of maybe 30, 50, 60, maybe even hundreds of addresses and you want to print each one of those addresses onto an address label. Well, one way to do that is you could create a new address label sheet in Microsoft Word, and you could go through, and you could copy and paste each address into one of the labels and then you could print it out. But that sounds really painful and thatamp;#39;s also going to take a long time. Today Iamp;#39;m going to show you how you can use mail merge in Word to greatly simplify that task. Select the portion of code youd like to copy, then go the Edit menu and select Copy Special - Copy as RTF. Your code, complete with syntax highlighting colors, is now stored on the clipboard. Simply press Ctrl + V in your other application to paste the code with syntax highlighting. Its that simple!
RTF files are simple to use and easy to edit. On Windows, save a document as an RTF file by navigating to File Save as and then select RTF. Once youve opened your RTF file on Microsoft Word, select the text you would like to edit. Start typing in this space to replace the current text with the new text.
And though RTF supports metadata like title and author, not all implementations support this. Nevertheless, the RTF format is consistent enough to be considered highly portable and acceptable for cross-platform use.
Open the systems print dialogue box. (You can click Control + P, or File Print.) Under Printer, Select Microsoft Print to PDF. Click Print to save a copy of the RTF file as a PDF on your computer.
For example, RTF does not support tables or images. Another disadvantage is that RTF files can be larger than other types of text files, such as plaintext files. This is because RTF files contain more information about the formatting of the document.
Click the Save as Type drop-down menu located toward the bottom of the dialog box. Select the Word 97-2003 Document option to save the RTF file in the classic DOC format. To save it as a DOCX format instead, select the Word Document option from the same drop-down menu.
RTF preserves the formatting and structure of a document, including fonts, colors, tables, and images, regardless of the software used. This ensures that the intended appearance is maintained across different platforms.
