this video is all about when you should not be shooting log footage and a little bit about when you should if youamp;#39;re new here my name is Javon dovey I do a lot of filmmaking tutorials a bunch of camera reviews some cool adventure stuff and today weamp;#39;re talking about log footage and if itamp;#39;s something that you should shoot more and more today cameras are coming out with the capabilities to shoot log but log is is a flattened image but the reason that you shoot log footage is to preserve the highlights and to preserve the darks so what it does is it basically flattens out your exposure so youamp;#39;re shooting right in the middle of highlights and darks and what that does is it preserves your dynamic range and every camera has a specific dynamic range native to the camera so it might be 14 stops it might be 16 it might be 18 whatever your camera may have and thereamp;#39;s a specific range of the amount of stops of light that your sensor will pick up now log pres

The big defining characteristic of LOG is its flat image profile. It looks this way because LOG retains a lot more color information than other footage types.
Copy selected cell or row(s) by typing CTRL C on the keyboard. An indicator will show that the selection(s) have been copied to the Clipboard. Paste the selected data by typing CTRL V on the keyboard.
LOG is much flatter than standard video images and captures more dynamic range. But the footage has to be manipulated in post-production in order to look normal. It appears washed out coming from the camera. When to shoot LOG or RAW depends on the project.
Not only can you can paste from your clipboard history, but you can also pin the items you find yourself using all the time. To get to your clipboard history, press Windows logo key + V. From the clipboard history, you can paste and pin frequently used items by choosing an individual item from your clipboard menu.
If you press CTRL+SHIFT+V you can paste anything you have ever copied in the past.
First and foremost is the fact that shooting in log isnt always necessary. Because log is primarily designed to maximize dynamic range, it makes sense to shoot log in tricky lighting conditions where you expect there to be both extremely bright and dark parts in the image.
What is Log Footage? To put it simply, Logarithmic Footage, generally known as Log, is very flat footage but that contains more details of the scene its baking into the image. This kind of footage is not intended to be used without editing so it needs further alterations to be used as the final footage.
What is log video? Log is short for logarithmic. A log picture profile on your camera uses a different type of gamma curve than a standard profile such as Rec. 709. The benefit of shooting in log is that your video files will have a higher dynamic range.
