Yes. Your letters of recommendation must be in English. If your letters were originally composed in another language, they must be translated into English and kept confidential.
Letterhead: When possible, write recommendations on official letterhead and sign them using a handwritten signature. Producing letters on official letterhead both adds to your credibility as a recommender and demonstrates that you care enough about the applicant to put finishing touches on your endorsement.
How to Write (Format) A recommendation letter should fill an entire page (usually 400 500 words) and contain an introduction, two (2) body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The student should be described in a way that highlights both their academic skills and personal qualities.
Those include letters that explain difficult personal circumstances, showcase remarkable achievements or reveal a students personality. Effective recommendation letters help admissions officers imagine how a student could contribute to their class, Capezza says.
For most academic institutions that require recommendation letters, its expected that students will not be privy to their contents. Traditionally, programs require that faculty submit recommendation letters independently of students or only pass them along to students in sealed, signed envelopes.
You do not need stamps or markers or a public notarys endorsement. I am in academia in the US and if we felt the need to verify a recommendation letter, we would just (1) look up the writer and (2) contact the writer directly.
Recommendation Letter Requirements Applicants are strongly advised to familiarize themselves with these requirements and to clearly convey them to the people writing letters on their behalf. Any letters that do not meet these criteria will not be accepted: Must include the recommenders hand-written signature.
Letterhead is optional. Its not even necessary for your recommender to be a current colleague comma so if you think about it that way definitely not.
