Macs come with a Text app, which is a perfect place to paste and save text and images. Press Command + V to paste. This will paste the text and/or images from the clipboard.
In the Terminal app on your Mac, do any of the following: Copy text in another app, and then in Terminal choose Edit Paste.
Force Close and Reopen Your Apps If the problem is specific to a few Mac apps; force-quit and re-open the affected app(s). This refreshes the app and possibly restores the copy and paste functionality. Press Command + Space bar to launch the Spotlight Search.
Select the text to copy. Choose Edit Copy (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen), or press Command-C. Note: If you want to remove the text from its original location, choose Edit Cut instead.
The most likely reason why copy and paste are not working on your Mac is that your clipboard stopped working and it needs to be reset to get it going again. Sometimes, you may even get error messages saying pboard quit unexpectedly. Then you will know that you need to restart pboard to get it working again.
Paste the text with its current formatting into a new paragraph: Choose Edit Paste, or press Command-V on the keyboard.

To paste as plain text on a Mac, you can use the somewhat cumbersome shortcut Option + Cmd + Shift + V to paste without formatting. This is a system-wide shortcut, so unlike Windows, it should work everywhere.
If youd rather directly paste the copied text elsewhere as purely plain text, use the key combination Command-Option-Shift-V and it will be automatically stripped of any formatting. This is a system-wide shortcut, so you can use it almost anywhere in macOS that accepts text input.
