Paste is a commonly used function in computing that allows you to place data into your computers clipboard and then insert it elsewhere.
Paste is a commonly used function in computing that allows you to place data into your computers clipboard and then insert it elsewhere. This simple, yet essential, feature is often used with the cut or copy functions.
With the Paste tool you can quickly add copies of any geometry currently in the Clipboard. Activating the tool initially creates a copy of the geometry in the Clipboard. You can edit the copied material with the standard tool handles for position (Center) and scale (Size).
Use the Clipboard function to copy multiple items at once. Then paste them with Ctrl+V. Right-click and choose Paste Special to make sure formatting matches your document. Choose Keep Text Only to remove any source formatting.
When you copy text into a Microsoft 365 app, the app automatically reformats that text to match the text of the destination. However, you can use Paste Special to maintain the original formatting or to paste it as a picture or a link.
Paste options Paste optionAction All Pastes all cell contents and formatting of the copied data. Formulas Pastes only the formulas of the copied data as entered in the formula bar. Values Pastes only the values of the copied data as displayed in the cells. Formats Pastes only cell formatting of the copied data.8 more rows
The cut command removes the selected data from its original position, and the copy command creates a duplicate; in both cases the selected data is kept in temporary storage called the clipboard. Clipboard data is later inserted wherever a paste command is issued.
The PASTE command is used to place the information that you have stored on your virtual clipboard in the location that you have placed your mouse cursor.
