- Sometimes when you copy and paste text from one document to another, it can introduce some frustrating problems. Iamp;#39;m starting with this document and this document, and I want to copy text from this document and paste it into the other. So naturally Iamp;#39;m going to select that text. Then I can go to the Home ribbon and click the Copy button, then switch over to the other document. Iamp;#39;m just going to make a new paragraph in the middle of this section. Then Iamp;#39;ll go to the Home ribbon and click the Paste button to paste that text in. And that worked fairly well, but we do have an issue. The text that we pasted has a completely different font, size and other formatting settings from the text that was already on this page. So we have a mismatch in style that just looks bad. Now we could manually fix it or we could learn how to be smarter about copying and pasting. So first Iamp;#39;m going to undo that paste action. So Iamp;#39;ll go to the Home ribbon and cli

Copy and paste multiple items using the Office Clipboard Open the file that you want to copy items from. Select the first item that you want to copy, and press CTRL+C. Continue copying items from the same or other files until you have collected all of the items that you want. Click where you want the items to be pasted.
The most common shortcuts include cut (Ctrl X), copy (Ctrl C), and paste (Ctrl+V).
To use options from the Paste Special box, select Home, select the clipboard icon (Paste), and select Paste Special. Keyboard Shortcut: Press Ctrl+Alt+V.
For example, you can press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C on Mac) to copy and Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac) to paste code.
Using Paste Special Cut or copy the slide, picture, text, or object that you want to paste. Click in your Microsoft 365 file at the place where you want to insert that item. On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, select the arrow under Paste, then select Paste Special, and then choose one of the options below.
Copying and pasting snippets without considering their compatibility can result in conflicts, errors, and even system crashes. Ignoring such compatibility issues hampers the stability and functionality of your project, leading to time-consuming debugging sessions.
hold down the Shift key while doing the paste. permanently alter the behavior by going to Tools / Preferences / Editing and check the Paste without shift key strips formatting checkbox.
Select the portion of code youd like to copy, then go the Edit menu and select Copy Special - Copy as RTF. Your code, complete with syntax highlighting colors, is now stored on the clipboard. Simply press Ctrl + V in your other application to paste the code with syntax highlighting. Its that simple!
