The keyboard shortcut for this command is Shift-⌘-V (Shift+Ctrl+V). Paste Into. Use this command to paste an image inside a selection youve made (in other words, inside the marching ants). Photoshop puts the pasted image on its own layer and creates a layer mask for you, as Figure 7-2 illustrates.
How to add texture to an image. Start it: Open Photoshop and import the image you want to add texture to. Choose it: Add your texture image by selecting File Place Embedded, then navigate to where your texture image is saved. Layer it: Select it: Blend it: Adjust it: Finish it:
Copy style settings between layers In the Layers panel, select the layer containing the style settings you want to copy. Choose Layer Layer Style Copy Layer Style. Select the destination layer in the Layers panel, and choose Layer Layer Style Paste Layer Style.
Press Ctrl + V (PC) or ⌘ Cmd + V (Mac) to paste. The copied object is pasted into your document.
Drag and drop the texture onto target channel of the same material. Alternatively, you can first copy the texture from the source channel with the right-click menu. And then paste the texture to the target channel with the right-click menu.
Paste one selection into another In the Edit workspace, use the Copy command to copy the part of the photo you want to paste. Make a selection in the photo into which you want to paste the copied photo. Choose Edit Paste Into Selection.
Select all or a portion of your texture with the Rectangle Selection Tool. Hit Command/Control + C to copy. Open your Photoshop illustration and select the layer that you want to add the texture to. Hit Command/Control + P to paste.
Navigate to File Open, and select your image. To apply the paper texture overlay, go to File Place (or Place Embedded, depending on your Photoshop version), and select your preferred paper texture. This will position the texture over your image. Next, resize your texture to match your image.
