Cause: The Copy area and the Paste area are not the same size and shape. Solution: Select the upper-left cell instead of the whole range before you paste. Click the cell where you want the upper-left cell of the copied data to appear.
Copy all the data on the sheet by pressing CTRL+C. Open the workbook in which you want to paste the data, then select the + in the status bar to add a new blank worksheet. Select the first cell in the new worksheet, then press CTRL+V to paste the data into that worksheet.
Cause. This behavior occurs because Excel cannot use its internal copying functionality when you run multiple instances of Excel. Instead, Excel relies on the Windows Paste Special dialog box for its copying functionality. When you run a single instance of Excel, Excel uses its internal copying functionality.

Your keyboard likely features multiple Ctrl keys. Try to use the additional Ctrl key at the bottom right of your keyboard to copy and paste. If it works, you are likely dealing with a faulty left Ctrl key.
To check if the workbook is protected, go to the Review tab and see if the Protect Workbook option is enabled. If it is, click on it and select Unprotect Workbook. 2. Check if the cells are locked: If the cells youre trying to copy and paste are locked, you may not be able to do so.
