Hey guys, in this video were going to look at copying and pasting XML code to Excel, and back into your form editor. So what am I talking about? First of all lets open up Excel and you will see, if we select multiple questions here, this handy little help menu comes up talking about copying and pasting questions. So what actually happens when we copy/paste a question? Well, were actually copying the XML code and pasting it back into the form editor. So when we select one question, for example the label question, we press Ctrl-C. We go to our Excel file, we press Ctrl-V. We can actually see the form builder in action, so we actually see the XML code here. So what does this all mean? Okay, first of all we have the ID, so this is just simply what it looks like in our in our file path, right? So we have introductory message its not in any question groups so we just have /introductorymessage Then type is trigger, in this case that means label, then we have the actual display text.

XML is a text-based markup language that is fast becoming the standard for data interchange on the Web. As with HTML, you identify data using tags (identifiers enclosed in angle brackets: ). Collectively, the tags are known as markup.
In a DTD, elements are declared with an ELEMENT declaration. Declaring Elements. In a DTD, XML elements are declared with the following syntax: Empty Elements. Empty elements are declared with the category keyword EMPTY: Elements with Parsed Character Data. Elements with any Contents.
Custom tags use XML syntax and are what page authors use. This is an umbrella term that describes the set of classes and conventions that allow programmers to create custom actions and tags within JSP. The tag extension mechanism was added to JSP in version 1.1.
XML - Tags Start Tag. The beginning of every non-empty XML element is marked by a start-tag. End Tag. Every element that has a start tag should end with an end-tag. Empty Tag. The text that appears between start-tag and end-tag is called content. XML Tags Rules.
All XML documents must contain a single tag pair to define a root element. All other elements must be within this root element. All elements can have sub elements (child elements). Sub elements must be correctly nested within their parent element.
ID resource is a simple resource defined in XML that provides a unique identifier for other project resources. An ID resource does not always reference an actual resource item, it is simply a unique ID that you can attach to other project resources or use as a unique integer in your app.
Use any of the following methods to create or load XML tags for your document: Create a tag with the New Tag command. Load tags from an XML file or another document. Import a DTD file. Import tags (and content) using the Import XML command.
Description. Under XML 1.0, an ID is a unique identifier to aid in processing. You can annotate an element uniquely with an attribute of type ID, as in id=i-35867 (IDs cant start with a number), which often assumes an associated DTD containing the attribute-list declaration .
