You could retype it, but thats tedious and its easy to make mistakes; its faster, easier and more accurate to use cut copy and paste. There are a gazillion ways to use it: to reorganize the text within a document, copy information from one file to another, from one app to another, even to rearrange your files and folders. It all boils down to four easy steps: 1. Select 2. Cut OR Copy 3. Move 4. Paste but many people are confused about it and for good reason, as youll see. Click on the path with the Path Selection Tool, then Copy it, (Edit menu Copy) and if you want it in a different layer click on that layer and Edit Paste.
You can copy and paste selections using the Move tool or the Copy, Copy Merged, Cut, Paste, or Paste Into Selection commands in the Edit menu. Keep in mind that when a selection or layer is pasted between photos with different resolutions, the pasted data retains its original pixel dimensions.
To move guides to another page or document, select one or more guides, choose Edit Copy or Edit Cut, go to another page, and then choose Edit Paste. If youre pasting onto a page of the same size and orientation as the guides original page, the guides appear in the same position.
