Excel Paste Special shortcut keys. As you already know, Excels Paste Special dialog can be opened via the Ctrl+Alt+V shortcut combination. After that, you can pick a specific paste option by pressing just one letter key on your keyboard.
Click Copy. Click the cell where you want to paste the data. Click the Paste list arrow. To preview a paste option before you commit to it, click the Paste list arrow and hold the mouse over the paste option.
To use options from the Paste Special box, select Home, select the clipboard icon (Paste), and select Paste Special. Keyboard Shortcut: Press Ctrl+Alt+V.
Click the File tab, then click Options. In the Advanced category, under Cut, copy, and paste, clear or select the Show Paste Options button when content is pasted check box to hide or display the Show Paste Options button.
Alt+E+S+X+Enter: Pastes the contents of the source cell without borders. Alt+E+S+W+Enter: Pastes the width of the column with the source cell. Alt+E+S+R+Enter: Pastes the number formats and formulas from the source cell. Alt+E+S+U+Enter: Pastes the number formats and values from the source cell.
Resolution. To see if the Paste Special option is enabled: Go to File Options Advanced. Under Cut, copy and paste, ensure the Show Paste Options button when content is pasted option is checked.
Want to change it back? To change the default back, select File Options Advanced Cut, copy, and paste, click the Pasting from other programs down arrow and select Keep Source Formatting in the list, and then click OK.
The steps to only paste values in Excel follow below: Select the cell(s) with formulas and press Ctrl + C to copy them. Select the destination range. Press Excels paste values shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + V, then V. Press Enter.
