Text Messaging offers a messaging service through GettingOut that AICs can use on a tablet in their facility, though there are fees associated with the service. You can send or receive messages using your GettingOut account.
All books must be new and soft cover (no hardcover or spiral bound) We are required to ship via USPS. You must supply the inmates name and ID number with the facility mailing address.
What to write Introduce yourself tell them your name, general location, and how you found out about them. Share things about yourself and the outside world. Ask questions to get to know them such as how theyre doing, plans they have for the future, and what their interests are.
For example, every telephone call and email is saved and prison staff has the capability of listening to each call and reading each email. Likewise, prison mailroom staff have the ability to read every incoming piece of mail. While they do search every piece of mail for contraband, they dont read every letter.

If you want to write to someone you know who is incarcerated, be sure to address the envelope using the persons full name, their Department of Corrections ID number, and the full name and address of the facility in which they are being held.
