hi my name is KY Armstrong Im the product manager for the editor group here at github and I just wanted to showcase an upcoming feature weve got in 13.1 which will be released on the 22nd of this month so let me go ahead and share my screen well kind of dive right into it so Ill share my screen Ive got the IDE already opened the web ID are you open created a new directory called pasting image and so features that were adding allows you to paste an image from your clipboard directly into markdown content while youre editing it so let me just create a new file here and well show you what that looks like so as I start Ill do this both ways first so manually and so in order to add an image today the way this works is I gotta go sort of find this image you know over here I cant drag and drop theres no nothing to do here so Ive got a click on the directory to upload a file were gonna upload this one I see that it gets uploaded now I want to reference it in a smart town back yet

To add a link to an image, enclose the Markdown for the image in brackets, and then add the link in parentheses.
Paste to Markdown Find the text to convert to Markdown (e.g., in another browser tab) Copy it to the clipboard ( Ctrl+C , or ⌘+C on Mac) Paste it into this window ( Ctrl+V , or ⌘+V on Mac) The converted Markdown will appear!
Smartly paste in Markdown by pressing Ctrl+Alt+V (Cmd+Alt+V on Mac) or Markdown Paste command. If you paste an image, the extension will create an new file for the image and insert link code to Markdown.
As the plugin suggests you can paste the image onto markdown file by pressing ctrl(cmd) + Alt + V . Open command palate pressing ctrl(cmd) + shift + p and select paste image.

open the VSCode command palette by pressing Ctrl+Shift+P at the position where you want to paste the image on the markdown. select Paste Image or press Ctrl+Shift+V to paste the image. The image will be saved in the same folder as the pasted md file, and a reference code to the image will be generated in md.
Drag and drop to insert links and images To start, drag a file from VS Codes explorer over your Markdown code and then hold down Shift to start dropping it into the file. The preview cursor shows where it will be inserted when you drop it.
