okay letamp;#39;s create our expenses spreadsheet on this sheet we are going to create a table and insert our expenses categories here i chose 17 types of expenses order alphabetically i simply copied and pasted in our table and i write categories here i select cell b20 and type in months now i merge all top cells in our table here in cell b21 i write in january scrolling to the right and in c21 i write february for summing by category for expenses which are located in another page we use summit function the summit function takes three parameters the first parameter we will enter is a range of cells that you want to apply the criteria against in our example we will enter b2 to p40 this is the range of cells that will be tested to determine if they meet the criteria the second parameter is the criteria that will be applied against range b2 to b40 the summit function will test each value in range b2 to b40 to see if it matches the beauty in this case the third parameter we must enter is
