In-text citations include the last name of the author followed by a page number enclosed in parentheses. Heres a direct quote (Smith 8). If I copy paste something and reference it to show its not my thought, is that plagiarism? If you use someone elses exact words, then you have to use quotation marks in addition to citing it, to clearly show that you did so. If you dont use quotation marks, then yes, that is plagiarism.
