welcome to another spreadsheeteramp;#39;s video guide you can find written instructions for these steps on the spreadsheeters website in this video weamp;#39;re going to see how to paste comma separated values in Excel Excel allows you to import data from many different types of files these could be CSV files or text files but there may be a case where you need to paste comma separated values into Excel from a file type that is not recognized by Excel so you will not be able to import the file directly into Excel instead you have to open the file and then copy the values into an Excel sheet or you could be copying from another file or maybe even off a website so when the data is separated by commas you want Excel to recognize the commas as delimiters and display the data in the row column format so letamp;#39;s see how to do that here I have some comma separated values on a notepad Iamp;#39;m going to select all these press Ctrl C to copy it then select a cell in this blank workboo

Open a new Excel sheet. Click the Data tab, then From Text. Select the CSV file that has the data clustered into one column. Select Delimited, then make sure the File Origin is Unicode UTF-8. Select Comma (this is Affinitys default list separator). Finally, click Finish. Remember to Save your document!
Under Region, click Change date, time, or number formats. In the Region dialog box, on the Formats tab, click Additional settings In the Customize Format dialog box, on the Numbers tab, type the character you want to use as the default CSV delimiter in the List separator box.
Select the delimited text and copy it to the clipboard. Launch Excel and create a new workbook. Click the first cell in column A and click the Paste button in the ribbon. Click the column A header to select the entire column. Leave the Delimited option checked and click Next.
Fields with embedded commas or double-quote characters must be quoted. Each of the embedded double-quote characters must be represented by a pair of double-quote characters. Fields with embedded line breaks must be quoted (however, many CSV implementations do not support embedded line breaks).
This may be because your data is separated by semicolons instead of commas. In countries such as the US, UK and Australia, the default list separator is a comma, so you get CSV comma delimited. In European countries, a comma is reserved for the decimal symbol, and the list separator is generally set to semicolon.
To change your default CSV setting in Windows: Open the Windows Start Menu and click Control Panel. Open the Regional and Language Options dialog box. Click the Regional Options tab. Click Customize/Additional settings (Windows 10) Type a comma into the List separator box (,) Click OK twice to confirm the change.
Adjusting the CSV delimiter in Windows Go to the Windows Start Menu and click on Control Panel. Select the Regional and Language Options button. Click on the Regional Options tab. Choose Customize/Additional settings (if youre using Windows 10) Type in a comma (,) into the List separator box.
In your Excel workbook, switch to the File tab, and then click Save As. Alternatively, you can press F12 to open the same Save As dialog. 2. In the Save as type box, choose to save your Excel file as CSV (Comma delimited).
