In the previous class, we discussed using discrete wavelet transform in images and planned to cover how DWT coefficients are encoded for generating the bit stream. Due to time constraints, we will continue this discussion in the current lecture on embedded zerotree wavelet encoding. We explored the parent-child relationship between coefficients in different subbands, noting that one pixel in a coarser scale corresponds to four coefficients in the next scale, forming a hierarchical tree structure.
