in this video im going to share some of my favorite chart formatting tips to help you build reports and dashboards super fast at the end of the video let me know in the comments which was your favorite tip or if you have your own favorite tip id love you to share it when youre building a report or dashboard its important that the charts have a consistent look and feel and theres a couple of ways we can achieve this the first is to build one chart and then copy it and edit the range being referenced for example lets say we want a separate chart for each region i can start by inserting a chart for europe or just to insert a line chart let me bring it over here and ill make it a little smaller now notice its detected the year as one of the series and it should be on the axis so im going to right click and select the data well remove it and then well edit the axis labels to reference the years click ok and okay lets say i also want this line to be a different color so lets go

To insert a copy of your file into another, embed it. Select Insert Object. Select Create from File. Select Browse and go to the file you want to use. Select Insert. Select Display as icon and then select OK.

Click the tab of the worksheet where you want to paste the chart. Click the cell where you want the upper left-hand corner of the chart, and right-click the cell. There are three paste buttons, as well as Paste Special.
In the target document, right-click the new location. Select a paste option to embed the chart with either the destination theme or the source formatting Or to link the chart with those same formatting options. To paste and link the chart, select Keep Source Formatting Link Data.
Save Time by Copy Pasting Graph/Chart Format in Excel Right-click on the chart whose formatting you want to copy and select copy (or select it and use the keyboard shortcut Control + C). Go to Home Clipboard Paste Paste Special. In the paste special dialog box, select Formats. Click OK.
Select the Excel chart (single click) and then right click to choose Copy. Move to a different location in the same worksheet or add a new worksheet and then right click and choose Paste.
