Privacy Enhanced Mail (PEM) files are a type of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) file used for keys and certificates. PEM, initially invented to make e-mail secure, is now an Internet security standard.
Open the document you wish to insert the certificate into. Select the Insert tab in the top navigation bar. Select Pictures and locate the certificate file on your computer. Select the certificate file and click Insert to add it to the document. Resize and adjust the certificate as desired. Save the document.
To view a certificate using OpenSSL, you use the openssl x509 -in [certificate. crt] -text -noout command. This command allows you to view the details of a certificate stored in a file named certificate.
A PEM encoded certificate is a block of encoded text that contains all of the certificate information and public key. Another simple way to view the information in a certificate on a Windows machine is to just double-click the certificate file.
Chrome: Enter the URL of the website you want to check in your browsers address bar and press Enter. Click on the padlock icon in the address bar. Click on Connection is secure. Click on Certificate is valid to open the Certificate Viewer.
The easiest and quickest way to open a . pem certificate file is with a text editor like Notepad (on Windows), TextEdit (on macOS), or any text editor on Linux. Another option is the Certificate Viewer: If the PEM file contains X.
To check an SSL certificate on any website, all you need to do is follow two simple steps. First, check if the URL of the website begins with HTTPS, where S indicates it has an SSL certificate. Second, click on the padlock icon on the address bar to check all the detailed information related to the certificate.
