To copy your AMI from one region to another region, you can follow the below-given steps. Login to your AWS account. Go to your EC2 dashboard. Click on the AMI option. Select your AMI and in Actions, you can find Copy AMI.

Update AMI Identify the current LC used for the ASG. Create a copy of the LC with an updated AMI. Navigate to AWS Console Services EC2 Auto Scaling Launch Configurations. Select a LC Copy launch configuration. Click Edit AMI. Click Create launch configuration. Edit the ASG and select the new LC.
You can verify using the following steps: SSH on launch EC2 instance. Check the log of your user data script in: /var/log/cloud-init. log and. /var/log/cloud-init-output. log.
Open the Amazon EC2 console at . From the console navigation bar, select the Region that contains the AMI. In the navigation pane, choose Images, AMIs to display the list of AMIs available to you in the Region. Select the AMI to copy and choose Actions, Copy AMI.
