- These are the five privacy and security tools that I use every single day. I do not use Chrome anymore, instead, I prefer to use a privacy-focused browser like Brave that does not track everything that Im doing online. To ensure that my passwords are strong and my accounts are secure, I always create and store my passwords in a password manager like 1Password. I always secure my most important accounts with a 2FA key like this one from YubiKey. That way, if somebody happens to steal my password, they cannot log in without this key. Ive created an encrypted email account through Proton Mail whose email address I never publish anywhere else and only use for secure email. Ive purchased a separate trash phone number that I manage with an app on my phone that Im able to give out without actually giving away my phone number.

Password Best Practices Never reveal your passwords to others. Use different passwords for different accounts. Use multi-factor authentication (MFA). Length trumps complexity. Make passwords that are hard to guess but easy to remember. Complexity still counts. Use a password manager.
Password: m#P52s@ap$V This is a great example of a strong password. Its strong, long, and difficult for someone else to guess. It uses more than 10 characters with letters (both uppercase and lowercase), numbers, and symbols, and includes no obvious personal information or common words.
Good - Passwords An English uppercase character (A-Z) An English lowercase character (a-z) A number (0-9) and/or symbol (such as !, #, or %) Ten or more characters total.
Strong Password Examples It starts with a passphrase, I want ice cream! for dinner in Kentucky? Uses a rule to keep the first 2 letters of every word and capitalize every second letter. Long at 14 characters. Uses special characters: ! and ? Includes uppercase and lowercase letters.
Combine three random words to create a password thats long enough and strong enough. Weak passwords can be cracked in seconds. The longer and more unusual your password is, the harder it is for a cyber criminal to crack.
Top 5 Strongest Password Mix meanless Word, number and symbol randomly, and at least 15 length. Mix Word and number together randomly. Replace Word with number and symbol randomly. Combine word with number. Combine partial unrelated words together.
Use strong passwords: Use long passwords or passphrases that are complex and combine uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. The best passwords are long (more than 16 characters) and completely random. Never reuse passwords: Use a separate password for each service you use.
What Makes a Password Strong? The key aspects of a strong password are length (the longer the better); a mix of letters (upper and lower case), numbers, and symbols, no ties to your personal information, and no dictionary words.
