When using SurveyMonkey, all your respondents information is securely stored in our SOC 2 accredited data centers that adhere to security and technical best practices. We ensure that collected data is transmitted over a secure HTTPS connection, and user logins are protected via TLS.
SurveyMonkey provides the tools for creators to configure their surveys how they want. This includes allowing them to collect strictly anonymous responses, or to choose to identify their respondents.
You can restrict access to your survey from the collector options. If you turn on Password Protection, respondents need to enter a password in order to take the survey. If you turn on IP Restrictions, you can allow or block a list of IP addresses. TIP!
Participants who take the survey from any link other than the direct link to the Surveymonkey site can not be traced. Our final contact is a link created by Surveymonkey but sent out through our own e-mail server. It is therefore untraceable, but being our final contact was not important to our study.
If you are a Creator that is part of a SurveyMonkey team plan or SurveyMonkey Enterprise plan, your account information and data will be shared with the primary administrator(s) and your survey data may also be visible to other members in your team with whom you share your surveys or with whom you collaborate.
If the survey covers sensitive data, it is best practice to password protect it. This option can be set here. If you toggle this option to On, it will let the owner set the password for the survey.
