Open the PDF and choose Tools Protect Encrypt Encrypt with Password. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
Open a test, and select the Settings icon located in the top-right corner. The Test Settings panel will open on the right. Scroll down to Assessment security and select Add access code. Turn the access code to On.
Navigate to Course Content in the app and select a test or assignment. You can see the assessments details, such as due dates, the number of attempts allowed, and whether its visible students.
On the Tests page, access the tests menu and select Edit. On the Test Canvas, select Question Settings.
If you put the files youd like to protect in a zip file, you can then apply a password. In Windows Explorer, highlight and right-click on the files you would like to put into a zipped file. Select Send to, then Zip folder (compressed). Double-click the zipped file, then select File and Add Password.
Accessing the Test Options To access the test options, locate the exam you would like to edit the settings for. Hover over the name of the test, and click the chevron button that appears next to the test and select Edit the Test Options from the menu that appears.
When a test is configured to use LockDown Browser, a random password is added under the Blackboard test settings. This internal password is not something students need to enter, nor should you provide this password to students.
For this reason, it is much better to use a combination of password protection and encryption. Encryption goes one step further than password protection and is an easy and effective way to lessen the likelihood of a privacy bdocHub. Encryption scrambles information so that it is unreadable without a passcode.
