hello today im happy to announce that sophia now features password protected assignments lets jump right in and see how the feature works all right looks like we have an assignment here in our locker lets go ahead and click edit and jump into the policy manager the policy manager is where were going to find the password protect option now the benefit of the password protect option is that youll have password protected assignments which are great for proctored exams or for keeping assignments closed until the instructor wants them open so you can deploy those assignments but theyll be closed youll have a password which you can distribute to students when you want them to be able to access the assignment so it can be done on your time as a professor so lets go ahead and try to set this assignment up so im going to call this password protected and as you can see we have all our standard features but im just going to go ahead and put password protect on and then im going to go

In the course navigation, click Assignments, then click on the name of the assignment. In the upper right-hand corner, click Edit and then scroll down to the Assign section. Under Assign to, choose the section you wish to lock the assignment for. You can also leave it as Everyone.
To configure an assignment to require a password, go to the assignment and select the Settings tab. Select Require password to start, and specify a password.
Add a password to Microsoft Office Click the File menu, select the Info tab, and then select the Protect Document button. Click Encrypt with Password. Enter your password then click OK. Enter the password again to confirm it and click OK.
The assignments are most likely locked because you need to work through the module content before accessing the assignments.
Right-click the file(s) and select Send to Mail Recipient. In Email Files - SmartVault, select the Password protect and encrypt all PDF documents sent in this email checkbox and click Send.
There isnt a password capability, but there is a way you can use Module requirements to keep things locked. This lesson will show you some of the options: How do I add requirements to a module?
With password protected pages, you can add a password to specific pages on your site that visitors will need to enter in order to view that page. Password protected pages are beneficial when certain information is designed for specific audiences; for example, to restrict access to a download page.
You can certainly hide a particular assignment from students by changing the assignment to a manual posting policy which will hide it by default.
