Reference List Order. Works are listed in alphabetical order in the reference list, by the first word of the reference list entry. Arrange entries in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author followed by the initials of the authors given name(s).
Items are listed in alphabetical order in the reference list ing to the main author/editors surname. This means that regardless of the order in which the in-text citations appear within your work, these items are all listed alphabetically by author/editor in the reference list.
We ignore the three nondocHub words (a, an, and the) at the beginning of an author name for the purposes of alphabetizing.
When using APA format, follow the author-date method of in-text citation. This means that the authors last name and the year of publication for the source should appear in the text, like, for example, (Jones, 1998). One complete reference for each source should appear in the reference list at the end of the paper.
Reference list entries should be alphabetized by the last name of the first author of each work. For multiple articles by the same author, or authors listed in the same order, list the entries in chronological order, from earliest to most recent.
The authors surname is first, followed by their initials. Alphabetize the reference list letter-by-letter.
The in-text citation consists of author surname(s)/family name(s), in the order that they appear on the actual publication, followed by the year of publication of the source that you are citing. For direct quotes, make sure to include page or paragraph number. eg. (Weston, 1988, p.
Entries in the reference list should be in alphabetical order by authors surnames. In cases where two or more of the authors have the same surname, arrange the works in alphabetical order based on their initials. Where two entries are by the same author, arrange the works chronologically from oldest to newest.
