Parchment paper is a good alternative to tracing paper, especially if youre working with oils or other types of paints. Its less translucent than tracing paper, but will still allow you to see the image underneath.
Heres how: Step 1: First Find/draw/print Off an Image. Step 2: Use a Graphite Pencil on the Back of the Image. Step 3: Have an Object You Want to Transfer the Image To. Step 4: Tape Image to the Surface. Step 5: Use a Pencil or Pen to Trace Over Your Entire Image. Step 6: Pull Off the Tape and Volia!

Sometimes tracing paper simply isnt available when you need to trace an image. Instead of putting off your project for another time, trace that paper-based image another way. Light tables, graphite, chalk and even charcoal allow you to trace any paper-based images or designs, sans tracing paper.
If you do not have graphite transfer paper, you can apply your own graphite to the back of the traceable by simply rubbing your pencil (aka coloring) on the back of the design. Then place it on the canvas and trace on the front side. This also works with chalk, white charcoal, color pencil or pretty much any medium.
Parchment paper or baking paper also works like tracing paper.
