[Music] hello interwebs welcome to lets fix computers uh ive got a dell xps here uh which has no power uh so we plug in the charger we have got a light on the charger when its plugged in and the light doesnt go out uh however when you push the power button nothing happens so the laptop appears to be stone dead so lets get this back cover off and well have a look inside and well see how far were getting okay right ive been in one of these recently and i didnt have a lot of luck with it lets see if we can break the curse so ive disconnected the battery and connected the charger and were just going to start questing around with my multimeter in voltage mode and just see what we can find let me just arrange this to a point where we can see everything again dc jack is in the way of everything uh okay lets start at the top so im gonna go lets go all the way around the back here so black probe on ground and were gonna check that weve got power coming in yeah theres 19.5 vo
