A radix parameter specifies the number system to use: 2 = binary, 8 = octal, 10 = decimal, 16 = hexadecimal. If radix is omitted, JavaScript assumes radix 10. If the value begins with 0x, JavaScript assumes radix 16.
If the first character cannot be converted to a number with the radix in use, parseInt returns NaN . Leading whitespace is allowed. For arithmetic purposes, the NaN value is not a number in any radix.
JavaScript parseInt() Function The radix parameter is used to specify which numeral system to be used, for example, a radix of 16 (hexadecimal) indicates that the number in the string should be parsed from a hexadecimal number to a decimal number.
What is Radix 64 Encoding? Radix 64 encoding allows binary data stored in octets (i.e. bytes) to be expressed as printable characters.
The parseInt() Function Heres the basic syntax: parseInt(string, radix); If you omit the radix parameter, the function assumes a default value of 10. However, it is considered good practice to always include the radix parameter to avoid unexpected results, especially when dealing with numbers that start with 0.
The Missing radix parameter error is thrown when JSLint, JSHint or ESLint encounters a call to the parseInt function that only has one argument. As of JSHint 2.3.0 the warning will only be issued if the es3 option is set to true . Heres an example: parseInt(10); x.
