First, sprinkle baking soda over the stained area and let it sit for a few minutes to absorb the stain. Then, pour vinegar over the baking soda and let it fizz for a few minutes. Finally, rinse the garment in cold water and repeat the process as necessary until the stain is gone.
If your kids hands and clothes look like a painting after using dot markers, dont fret! With just a little bit of soap and water, the ink should wash away.
Crayola Ultra Clean Washable Markers.
Granted, you wouldnt let your child suck on the dot marker, but if a little bit does end up in their mouth, know that theyll be just fine. Do-a-dot markers are washable.
I experimented with a scrap of white cotton cloth. I used the dot markers (these and regular Dauber Dawg dot markers) all over the cloth, let it dry and then washed it. I used regular detergent and some oxi in the wash and it all seemed to wash out pretty well.
Isopropyl alcohol also known as rubbing alcohol reigns supreme for ballpoint ink stains. People swear by hair spray, nail polish remover, hand sanitizer and alcohol is the big common denominator between all these. Rubbing alcohol dissolves the oil of pen ink in stained fabric or an ink stained area.
Method #1 Carter uses a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. Spray enough vinegar/water solution to wet the stain. Let this work for 30 seconds. Vacuum using a wet/dry vac or blot the stain with a clean dry cloth, soaking up the stain. Repeat until no more stain is transferred onto the cloth.
The ink in permanent markers is designed to penetrate cellulose (the main part of the cell walls of plants), effectively dyeing cotton fabrics or paper. The added color can be permanentand its supposed to be. But, if something breaks up the ink, the right bleach product can remove the stain.
