Determine the size of an array in C sizet arraysize = sizeof(myarray); sizet listlength = sizeof(myarray) / sizeof(myarray[0]); int listlength = sizeof(myarray) / sizeof(myarray[0]);
It depends on the language. In C it is not possible as far as I know. In C++ we can use generic vector and use pushback() to insert elements without actually specifying the size. Arrays are by default static in nature we can declare arrays in two ways.
Declaring Arrays: typeName variableName[size]; This declares an array with the specified size, named variableName, of type typeName. The array is indexed from 0 to size-1. The size (in brackets) must be an integer literal or a constant variable.
The usual way of declaring an array is to simply line up the type name, followed by a variable name, followed by a size in brackets, as in this line of code: int Numbers[10]; This code declares an array of 10 integers. The first element gets index 0, and the final element gets index 9.
Dynamic multidimensional arrays are declared by omitting the size of the most docHub (leftmost) dimension, while specifying the size of the remaining dimensions.
To declare a 2D array, specify the type of elements that will be stored in the array, then ( [][] ) to show that it is a 2D array of that type, then at least one space, and then a name for the array. Note that the declarations below just name the variable and say what type of array it will reference.
The return value of the C++ size() function is an unsigned integer representing the number of characters (or the length) of the string. This function returns a std::string::sizetype value, indicating the size of the string, which includes all characters, spaces, and special characters.
