today were going to talk about the issue of dealing with scuff marks on the floor one of the things that we can do to remove scuff marks is when were burnishing we go with a more aggressive burnishing pad i have two pads here one is a traditional tan or sometimes called the beige pad this pad is good for certain finishes and will help pop the shine but if youre finding that you get a lot of scuff marks in your facility and a less aggressive burnishing pad like this tam pad doesnt get them out you may want to go to a more aggressive burnishing pad this is what we call a natural fiber pad or in the old days you old-timers will remember it as what was called the hogs hair pad because it was actually hogs air but with these fibers in there its more aggressive so it will take out more of the scuff marks may not pop as high as shine as other pads but it will remove more of the scuff marks and impurities in the floor the other tried and true method for doing it has been around for ages a

Many fresh scuff marks can be removed by simply rubbing the mark with a slightly damp soft, white cloth. Its always best to give it a try to avoid damaging paint. After dipping the cloth in water, apply a bit of pressure and, if the mark is removed, buff the area with a dry white cloth.
Dampen a soft microfiber cloth. Squirt a small amount of toothpaste onto the damp cloth. Rub hard in circular motions over the scuff mark. Repeat as necessary until the scuff is gone.
Place a few drops of mild dish soap in to a small bowl of warm water and gently stir. Dip in your soft cloth or sponge, and wring out before gently scrubbing the mark, making sure not to saturate the area, and finish by wiping dry with a soft, clean cloth.
Baking soda. Baking soda is a go-to all around the house, and scuff marks are no different. Make a paste with baking soda and water and rub it gently onto the scuff. Work in the same direction as the wood grain.

Create a paste using two parts baking soda and one part water, and then apply the paste to the scuff mark with a clean cloth. Rub the paste into the mark in a circular motion until it disappears. Once youre finished, wipe away any remaining residue with a damp cloth.
When you use the Magic Eraser, wall marks will virtually disappear. So you can say goodbye to scuffs, fingerprints and pencil marks on the wall, among other things.
Scuff marks are oil-based stains found on a variety of hard floor types including rubber, VCT, wood, LVT and more. They are generally left behind by items that have a hard, dark brown or black rubber bottom. In entryways and hallways, heels and hard-soled shoes scrape the floor leaving behind these dark marks.
