Omitted question means that you didnt answer that question. Its possible you inadvertently skipped it and then ended the test without catching that.
Omit means to leave out someone or something. It also means failing to include or mention something. If your teacher is editing your essay and writes the word omit above a circled word, your teacher is asking you to remove the word and leave it out.
Total scores for each SAT Subject Test have a range of 200800. To calculate your raw score, we add a point for each correct answer and then subtract a partial point for each incorrect answer. Points arent subtracted for unanswered questions.
As you know, the SAT penalizes an incorrect response with a one-quarter-point deduction. Your raw score is therefore computed as follows: +1 point for each correct response. +0 points for each omitted (left blank) response. -1/4 point for each incorrect response.
There is no penalty for incorrect or omitted answers, meaning that incorrect answers or unanswered questions do not affect the raw score. The raw score provides a simple count of correct responses and serves as the initial score before any conversions or adjustments are made.
Its natural to be unsure about whether to guess on the SAT or leave questions unanswered. However, the current SAT format actually encourages you to make educated guesses. Unlike the previous version of the test, which penalized you for incorrect answers, the current SAT does not deduct points for wrong answers.
