A decimal number is always stored as a double-precision floating point value. Do not confuse this DAX data type with the decimal and numeric data type of Transact-SQL. The corresponding data type of a DAX decimal number in SQL is Float.
The easiest way would be to use the Truncate function.
In Power BI, measures are used to create variety of DAX functions like SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN and COUNT. Examples: Measures include: Total Sales, Total Salaries, Average Quantity, Average Order Value, Count of Customers, Year-to-Date (YTD) Sales and so on.
DAX includes many functions that return a table rather than a value. The table is not displayed, but is used to provide input to other functions. For example, you can retrieve a table and then count the distinct values in it, or calculate dynamic sums across filtered tables or columns.
DAX is a formula language. You can use DAX to define custom calculations for Calculated Columns and for Measures (also known as calculated fields). DAX includes some of the functions used in Excel formulas, and additional functions designed to work with relational data and perform dynamic aggregation.
Well frame our understanding of DAX around three fundamental concepts: Syntax, Functions, and Context. There are other important concepts in DAX, but understanding these three concepts will provide the best foundation on which to build your DAX skills.
Here are some of the most commonly used DAX functions: CALCULATE. SUM and SUMX. CALCULATETABLE. RANKX. DATEDIFF. DATEADD. COUNT and COUNTROWS. LOOKUPVALUE.
