When you import photos from these cameras, Photos uses the JPEG file as the originalbut you can tell it to use the RAW file as the original instead. In the Photos app on your Mac, double-click a photo to open it, then click Edit in the toolbar. Choose Image Use RAW as Original.
Removing Camera RAW XMP data Open the General tab. Select Metadata Filters and choose Remove Camera Raw fields from XMP. Use this feature to strip all Camera Raw metadata from the files processed in the channel. This removes all information contained in the Camera Raw namespace in the input file.
Convert your file Open the photos in RAW format, e.g. in Photoshop. Go to File and choose Save As and select from the list . jpg (it might appear as JPEG). Choose a compression between 90-100%, otherwise this leads to loss of quality.
The fine tuned editing, the color correction, the skin retouching, those are all equivalent to preparing and cooking those raw ingredients. Simply put, you dont ask a professional photographer to give you their RAW photos because that would be giving you only half of an unfinished work of art.
1. Right mouse click on on the thumbnails panel.Option 2: Click on a folder containing photos. On the ribbon menu click on Find, the Find options will be displayed on the ribbon. Click on the Media type drop-down. In the drop-down options you can select to display photo files or Raw photo files.
Steps to split a RAW + JPEG file: In the General section under Preferences, check the option that says Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos. Go to the folder that has all the RAW photos for which you want to import respective JPEGs. Right click on the folder and select Synchronize folder.
RAWs give you more information to work with, but you have to put more time into that work. If speed is of the essence, or you want a point-and-shoot experience that yields photos ready to use out of the box, JPEGs might actually be a better option than RAWs.
